Microsoft’s Ontario Public Sector sales organization is searching for an
experienced sales professional to replace a currently established role. This
role requires a skilled solutions-oriented sales person with Public Sector
industry specific experience and a strong solutions sales background. This
Solution Specialist position is responsible for driving the sales and adoption
of Microsoft Application Platform Solutions. This individual will be part of 3
vertical account teams within the Central PS business organization;
HealthCare, Municipal Government and Ontario Government. Knowledge of, or
selling experience in, any or all three of these markets would be a strong
asset.

><br>This individual will be helping our customers evaluate and realize
business value from the following solutions:

><br>- Mission Critical Business Applications and Business Processes
(Microsoft and ISV/SI Solutions)

>- Data Warehousing & Business Intelligence Solutions<br>- Custom Application
Development Tools & Solutions

>- Enterprise Integration, SOA, and Business Process Automation Solutions<br>-
Internet Business, Ecommerce, and Supply Chain Solutions

>- Solutions standardizing and optimizing our customers Application Platform
Infrastructure<br>

>Primary responsibilities of this role include relationship management,
territory and account planning, pipeline development, management and closing
sales, and opportunity and resource management. <br>

>Day to day activities include marketing and selling business application
solutions with a high degree of independence; selling at a strategic level in
the account (CXO, BDM); developing and implementing business plans; defining
solution strategies; defining problems and opportunities in accounts;
understanding competitive strategies and leveraging Partners (ISVs,
Integrators and Outsourcers) to support Microsoft efforts within accounts;
Leverage Microsoft Services were appropriate, seeking direction from
management as required for complex customer issues; and developingexecuting
creative and innovative programs to influence sales opportunities. Ongoing
training and self-education on Microsoft solutions is required. Selling
efforts will incorporate both 1 to many events, and 1 to 1 selling with
Partners and/or Microsoft “specialist” resources in strategic opportunities.

><br>The Solution Specialist will document and publicize design wins and
success stories.

><br>Qualifications should include 7-10 years of direct sales experience in
corporate sales of computer software, business applications or services, or an
equivalent combination of training and experience. This person will need to
understand and be able to articulate the solution components, competitive
positioning, and business value provided by Microsoft's Application Platform
Solutions (SQL Server, .NET, Visual Studio, BizTalk Server, and Commerce
Server). This individual has the ability to interact effectively with all
levels of management and manage a virtual team of technical, sales and
consulting SME’s who are brokered in and out of opportunities. Strong oral,
written, communication and presentation skills required. Strong
prioritization, objection handling, strong customer service, and interpersonal
skills desired.

> <br>Experience selling in or working in the Public Sector is preferred. A
BA/BS degree in related field required. An MBA is preferred.

> <br>Location is in Mississauga, Ontario.

> <br>Travel is required to visit customers in Ontario. No out of province or
international travel required (other than occasional training).
