We’re looking for the next generation of leaders to help define the future of
Microsoft innovation. Working collaboratively with the Western Commercial
Sales team, the Western Canada Energy Industry Market Development Manager is
focused on identifying new strategic growth opportunities addressing key
Energy (Oil and Gas, Utilities, Process Manufacturing) industry challenges and
proactively driving Microsoft revenue via Industry focused partners.

><br>With strong senior customer and partner relationships, the Energy
Industry Market Development Manager is a thought leader with a deep
understanding of issues impacting customers in the Oil and Gas, Utilities and
Process Manufacturing sectors and possesses the strategic insight to
articulate how Microsoft can mobilize a partner ecosystem to create Energy
Industry solutions that deliver new capabilities to these customers.

><br>You will champion the Microsoft Industry Point of View and drive Solution
Area sales goals in Western Canada by using your highly developed strategic
thinking, sales and communications skills and by engaging with Alliance and
local Industry partners. You will ensure that there is a focus on business
application sales execution through partners and be accountable for developing
and implementing Partner driven sales programs in Western Canada for Energy
industries and driving revenue & sales leadership. You will leverage the
established procedures, methods and tools of the Microsoft Solution Sales
Process (MSSP) and may also contribute to the development of new methods and
tools as required. You will ensure that the appropriate resources are made
available when industry or business process expertise is required to realize
the opportunity.

><br>You will be accountable for:

><br> Driving the overall opportunity for Solution Area-led selling through
partners in the Energy Sector including:

>o Developing an Annual Industry plan that defines target accounts, focused
solution areas, key partners, account penetration and market development
strategies<br>o Stimulating local investment in Solution Area-led selling

>o Serving as the local “face” of Microsoft for the Energy Sector with our key
Industry partners and customers<br> Translating WW Sector, Industry and
Vertical strategies into local action plans that drive customer engagement and
adoption of Energy solutions including:

>o Driving Alliance Partner participation in Western Canadian
opportunities<br>o Fostering local partner alignment to Solution Area
priorities

>o Working with local partners to establish Partner Solution Plans (PSPs) with
clear Solution Area win goals<br>o Establishing and driving local internal
communities and affinity groups aligned to the Energy Sector

>o Evangelizing Microsoft’s SectorIndustry/Vertical Point of view internally
and externally

>o Working to develop the local ecosystem of Industry partners by identifying
emerging partners andor Solution Areas and putting in place plans to enable
partners to ramp in the Industry and contribute to Solution Area wins

> Driving the opportunity pipeline and revenue for Solution Areas prioritized
by the Energy sector including:<br>o Ensuring coverage for sales opportunities
where industry expertise is required

>o Holding regular pipeline review meetings with key Industry Partners<br>o
Providing direct assistance for “flagship” or “marquee” accounts

>o Integrating Solution Area sales efforts with subsidiary Business Marketing,
Account Teams, Partner Teams and Specialty Teams rhythms<br>o Soliciting or
managing market development funds for industry or vertical offers

> Providing feedback on local industry trends and requirements to WW Industry
teams<br>

> <br>Qualifications:

>This position is based in Calgary and reports to the Manager of the Industry
Market Development Team. Experience with Microsoft’s industry “approach” and
knowledge of our Industry Unit strategies is highly desirable in this role.
You must be advanced in the competencies of Building Customer and Partner
Relationships, Drive for Results, Cross Boundary Collaboration, Strategic
Sales Planning and Value Selling. In addition you must have the ability to
lead and motivate, communicate effectively with demonstrable strong
presentation and negotiation skills and provide strong project management
skills.<br>

>BABS degree required; MBA or advanced degree preferred. Candidates should
also have 12-15+ years of professional experience, including 7 to 10 years of
consulting or senior sales management experience within the Energy Sector.
Business technology solution selling experience is an asset as well as
experience building partnerships with Global Alliance, local SI and ISV
partners. Must be able to travel 50% and work independently.
