SanDisk is the inventor and leader of the flash memory industry in the world, and SanDisk Shanghai is the major and biggest factory for all SanDisk products (soon the only one, they have closed their factory in Futian, Shenzhen and Bruno, Czech. Taiwan and Japan scheduled).

Sr. Packaging Process Engineer 01/2010 – 08/2010
Report to: Engineering Director (Singaporean) Subordinate(s): 1(Direct)
Main Responsibilities:
 Designing of the blisters and envelopes, along with USA coworkers;
 Designing of tools, fixtures, molds, equipments used in the factory;
 New supplier, new material introducing and approving.
 Preparing of Working Instructions, production site layouts, packing processes;
 Designing of the whole packaging system (Blister->Envelope/insert->inner box->outer box->pallet. Preparing the SOP for all these operations.
 Packaging reliability testing and confirming;
 Quality standards preparing;
 DFM (Design For Manufacturing)
Main Achievements:
 Prepared quality standard for all blisters used in the factory in Feb and Mar of 2010
 Completed LAR (Latin America Region packaging transition) project in Apr of 2010;
 Finished designing of all EU blisters which was originally manufactured in Bruno, totally 25 new entirely different structures, May of 2010
 Qualified and approved each material above for four suppliers, Jun to Jul of 2010;
 Added two new suppliers for packaging materials.
 Designed the whole packaging system (they ship inner boxes out directly before), for safer transportation and lover cost.

Main Responsibilities:
 Sonyericsson has four classes for technical positions (Junior Engineer-About 10%, Engineer-About 80%, Senior Engineer-About 10%, Expert-0% till my leaving), coaching new coming engineers as the only senior engineer of the department.
 Packaging strategy for Sonyericsson to have lower packaging related costs without sacrificing the safety during the transportation and storage.
 Packaging related issues for incoming components and final phone products.
 Within projects, my responsibility included deciding the packaging formats, making packaging specs, belancing demands from different functions, giving out instructions to suppliers and verifying and approving those packages for all components.
 To check and feedback the status and problems we meet regarding the inner and outer boxes we used on our final products, to give out suggestions and to try to solve those problems.
 Coaching new coming engineers so that they could start their work as soon as possible and coaching new added suppliers on how to fulfill all the requirements/demands from us.
 DFM (Design For Manufacturing)

 Most models of Sonyericsion cell phones during my staying (K790/K800, K810/K810, M600/W950,P1/W960, W880/W888, W310, Z550/Z560, C902, Satio (U1)…
 Improved the process of packaging designing/approving for better performance while shorter lead time;
 Improved the cooperation between packaging engineers and other functions like quality, PIE, warehouse, process, fixture designers, part designers, production lines.
 Prepared unique process for customers who have special requirements;

Main Responsibilities:
 As an Asst. Production Manager: To arrange our production line based on the existed products on lines, the deadline and the requirements of the products themselves, we also took the capabilities of our lines and machines in consideration when arranging the production.
 As an Artwork Designer: Coordinating with our customers and maybe modifying their designing of the products they ordered a little to make it more suitable for mass production with same appearance when finished, we did some artwork design as well when our customers hadn’t got a detailed idea of how their final products should look like and required us to do the designing for them.

 Helped to write a short computer program to simplify the salary calculation of work cell (I was good at computer programming that time)
 Improved working procedure in production department.
